Patti Rankle is a highly experienced and certified Forensic Nurse Examiner with a career spanning more than 20 years. With a background in critical care and cardiovascular recovery, she transitioned to forensic nursing in 2004. She holds SANE-A certification for adults and adolescents and SANE-P certification for pediatrics from the Commission for Forensic Nurses Certification. Further demonstrating her commitment to victim safety, she also completed the Danger Assessment Certification, Advanced Course on Strangulation Prevention and Intimate Partner Violence Examiner training.

Patti’s career as a FNE spans various healthcare systems across Southern California, including significant roles at Forensic Nurses of SoCal, Palomar Health and Independent Forensic Services. She owns a private practice for Expert Consultation and Testimony.

Patti serves on the San Diego SART Systems Review Committee, CalSafe Board, and the Community Coordinated Response to Elder Abuse. She leads Palomar Health’s Forensic Nursing Team.

With over 3,000 cases of all ages, Patti has demonstrated an extraordinary depth of experience in forensic nursing. This extensive case load highlights not only her longevity in the field but also her profound expertise in working with survivors of all ages, from children to adults. Such a high volume of cases is a testament to her dedication and skill in providing compassionate, trauma-informed care and meticulously collecting forensic evidence.
